Many consultants do not know how to get a new Implementation project in LCS. Do you know that?

A few years back, when I had to lead my first project as a Functional solution architect, the very first hurdle I had to cross was to get a new implementation project in LCS for my client. Though I was part of multiple projects earlier, they all had the LCS project readily available, and deploying the sandbox environments and cloud-hosted environments was just an easy job after that.

Though it’s a simple process, not knowing it and being unable to deploy your environments on time for the analysis phase might bring down our confidence levels in front of the client. That is why we need to be aware of this.

Here you go on how you get it.

1. Like all the cloud services licenses, even D365 F&O licenses are connected to organization’s Office 365(Microsoft 365) account.

We need to ensure that the D365 licenses that are purchased get reflected under client’s tenant. If you don’t see the licenses listed, you have to work with the client’s IT team to understand if they are purchased under the right tenant.

Note: The above screenshot shows the sandbox-related license wherein the real case you would have the client’s D365 F&O application license.

2. When you see the active license available under the client’s tenant then the maximum work is done.

As the client’s IT team now logs into LCS with the global admin account, they will see a new pop-up asking if they want to proceed with the implementation project creation. Do not worry about missing out on this pop-up. You very well have the option of creating an implementation project now when you start creating a new LCS project.
